Frequently Asked 3D Troubleshooting Questions

Why am I unable to see 3D content?

If you are watching in 3D mode and cannot see 3D content, HP recommends that you not use the 3D glasses. Refer to the information below and 3D Safety Information on page 25. Consult a physician if you suspect a physical problem seeing stereoscopic 3D.

You may be trying to watch 3D content in 2D mode.

You may be sitting too far from the computer display. You should be approximately 60 to 70 centimeters (24 to 28 inches) from the display when viewing 3D content.

NOTE: Depending on your viewing angle, the operational distance from the display can vary.

Can I play stereoscopic 3D games on my computer?

Yes, you can play stereo 3D games on your computer using TriDef® 3D Ignition Game Player. NOTE: Games are not included with the software and must be purchased separately.

1.Install the TriDef® 3D Ignition Game Player software provided on the CD included with the monitor.

2.To access the game player, select Start > TriDef 3D > TriDef 3D Ignition.

Can I wear the 3D glasses to a 3D movie in a movie theater?

The 3D glasses are not guaranteed to work optimally in any other 3D environment.

Can I wear my 3D glasses over my prescription glasses?

Yes. The 3D glasses are designed to fit over most prescription glasses. If you normally wear glasses when viewing the computer screen, keep them on and put the 3D glasses on over your eyewear.

How do I clean my 3D glasses?

Use a soft, damp, lint-free cloth to clean your 3D glasses. Refer to Caring for the 3D Glasses on page 28 for more information.

How close do I need to be to the computer to view 3D content?

The effective range is approximately 60 to 70 centimeters (24 to 28 inches) from the computer display. Depending on the viewing angle, the operational distance from the display can vary.

Can I use the 3D glasses in bright sunlight next to a window?

The stereoscopic 3D effect works best in a darkened room.

Where can I find extra 3D glasses?

Two sets of 3D glasses are included with the monitor. Extra 3D glasses can be purchased at your local electronics retail store. Note that there are several types of 3D glasses on the market. For optimal 3D viewing of 3D content on the HP 2311gt 3D LCD monitor, purchase glasses compatible with 3D Passive FPR (Film-type Patterned Retarder) glasses for TN screens.
