INTRODUCTION
To get the best out of your new appliance, please read this user guide carefully before using it for the first time. Take particular note of the safety precautions. We also recommend that you keep the instructions for future reference, so that you can remind yourself of the functions of your appliance.
SAFETY MEASURES
General
•Incorrect use of this appliance may cause personal injury and damage.
•Use for its intended purpose only. The manufacturer is not responsible for any injury or damage resulting from incorrect use or handling (see also Guarantee Terms).
•For domestic use only. Not for outdoor or commercial use.
•For connection to 230 V, 50 Hz only.
•Do not immerse the appliance, cord or plug in water and make sure no water enters the appliance.
•Do not use in humid surroundings.
•Never touch the appliance, cord or plug with wet or damp hands.
•Do not expose to direct sunlight, high temperatures, humidity, noise or corrosive substances.
•Keep the appliance under constant supervision while in use. Keep an eye on children.

•This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
•Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
Cord and plug
•Keep the cord and appliance away from heat sources, hot objects and naked flames.
•Check that it is not possible to pull or trip over the cord or any extension cord.
•Switch off the appliance, remove the plug from the socket when the appliance is not in use and before cleaning or replacement of the fluorescent tubes.
Avoid pulling the cord when removing the plug from the socket. Instead, hold the plug.
•Handle fluorescent tubes carefully as they may splinter and cause injuries to your hands.
•Ensure that the cord is fully extended.
•The cord must not be twisted or wound around the appliance.
•Check regularly for damage to appliance, cord and plug. Do not use if any parts are damaged or if the appliance has been dropped or damaged in any way whatsoever.
•If the appliance, cord or plug have been damaged, have them inspected and if necessary repaired by an authorised repair engineer. Never try to repair the appliance yourself. Please contact the store where you bought the appliance for repairs under guarantee. Unauthorised repairs or modifications to the appliance will invalidate the guarantee.
Using lightbaths
•Do not use in rooms without some other light source. For use as a light supplement only, not illumination.
•Do not look directly at the appliance for long periods. Follow the user guide below.
•Initial use may cause tired eyes and/or headache. This is normal, and such effects will soon disappear. If symptoms persist, consult your doctor.
•Consult your doctor before using this appliance if you
o suffer or have suffered from severe depression o are hypersensitive to light
o suffer from any type of eye disease
o use particular forms of medicine such as psychopharmacia or malaria pills
o suffer from high blood pressure.
•Consult your doctor, if the use of the appliance results in hyperactivity, exhaustion, depression, restlessness, difficulties in sleeping and/or other adverse effects.

USING THE APPARATUS
The appliance is used for lightbaths that counteract winter fatigue, which can cause the following symptoms:
