IDV380/IDV490 Fireplace Insert

CLEANING and MAINTENANCE

WARNING

Allow logs to cool completely before cleaning. Logs reach high tem- peratures.

Make sure clearances to combustibles leave enough room for main- tenance and service.

Carefully reassemble and reseal insert properly after any cleaning or servicing.

1.Carefully remove log set, and embers from combustion chamber.

2.Vacuum burner compartment thoroughly.

3.Vacuum any dust off logs.

4.Remove any lint from main burner and pilot.

5.Carefully replace log set, and embers in their correct positions. Refer to Pages 19 through 21.

6.Replace door.

7.Relight pilot. Refer to Page 24.

8.Turn on main burners.

Fingerprints or other marks left on optional gold or nickel surface may become etched in place if they are not wiped clean prior to turning stove on. Clean gold or nickel with a 50/50 vinegar and water solution and soft cloth.

NOTE: Make sure heater is cool before cleaning. Using cleaners other than a 50/50 vinegar and water solution may leave a film that becomes permanently etched into the gold or nickel.
