CHAINSTICH SEAM

FABRIC:

2 pieces of medium weight cotton 1½” X 6”

NEEDLES:

80/12 universal

THREAD:

2 cones of serger thread

PRESSER FOOT:

Cover Stitch or Standard

Convert the serger from Overlock to Cover Stitch using the directions on page__ in the Instruction Manual or on the Quick Reference card. Insert the Right Needle and turn the Stitch Selection Dial to “G”.

Set Stitch Length at 3.

Following the instructions on page ___ of your Instruction Manual, thread the serger for a Chain Stitch.

With right sides together place the fabric under the Needles. Use the 5/8” mark on the Cover/Chain Stitch Extension Plate to position the fabric.

Chain Stitch the fabrics together. Continue stitching off the end of the fabric.

Following the directions on page ___ of the Instruction Manual, remove the chain stitch.

Lift the toe of the Presser Foot and Chain Stitch the seam a second time.

Following the directions on page___ in the Instruction manual, secure the thread tail.

Trim and mount the sample.
