This dishwasher may have a SmartDispensefeature which automatically dispenses liquid automatic dishwasher detergent into each cycle based on soil level and water hardness.

To utilize the SmartDispenseDetergent Dispenser, it must first be filled. Although any liquid or gel automatic dishwashing detergent can be used in the SmartDispensesystem, all liquid or gel automatic dishwashing detergents are not the same. Most automatic dishwashing detergents are chlorine bleach-based (such as Cascade® or Electrasol®) while others contain enzymes (such as Cascade Complete®).

Do not mix any chlorine bleach-based automatic dishwashing detergent with any dishwashing detergent containing enzymes as this could cause the detergents to congeal and lead to blockage of the SmartDispensesystem. Check the detergent label to determine if the detergent is chlorine bleach-based or one that contains enzymes. It is recommended that the same type of detergent be used when refilling your SmartDispensesystem.

CAUTION! Absolutely do not add powder detergent, tablets or any liquid soap or detergent normally used for washing hands or dishes in a sink. Only use liquid or gel detergent specifically designed for use in an automatic dishwasher.

Filling Dispenser

To open the dispenser for filling, push down and turn the blue cap counterclockwise until the cap is loose. Lift cap off.

Set the door at a comfortable angle to fill the dispenser.

Aim the detergent bottle at the opening in the door and begin to fill.

The dispenser will hold 1.1 l (40 fl. oz.) of liquid dishwasher detergent (standard size bottle).

Turn clockwise until tight.

When full, replace the cap and turn clockwise until tight to ensure that no water enters the SmartDispensedispenser. If residue is left on the door, it will be washed off in the next cycle.

An indicator light will turn on to notify you when the dispenser needs to be filled again. After filling, the light will not turn off until the door is closed. A full dispenser will last approximately 1 month for the average user.

Light will turn on when it is time to refill.

NOTE: If you are not using SmartDispenseand you want to turn the LOW DETERGENT LED light off, press the ADDED HEAT pad 5 times within 3 seconds. You will hear 3 beeps, then the light will go off. You can turn the light back on by pressing the ADDED HEAT pad 5 times within 3 seconds.

GLD6900 Series, PDW7000 Series specifications

The GE PDW7000 Series and GLD6900 Series are both distinguished lines of dishwashers that combine efficiency, innovative technology, and user-friendly features, aiming to enhance the dishwashing experience.

Starting with the PDW7000 Series, these dishwashers are characterized by their sleek designs and robust performance capabilities. They come equipped with GE's proprietary UltraWash® System, which uses advanced wash arms and targeted spray jets to deliver exceptional cleaning performance. The dishwashers also feature a built-in SmartDispense™ technology that automatically dispenses the right amount of detergent based on the load size and soil level, ensuring optimal cleaning while minimizing waste.

The PDW7000 Series includes a variety of wash cycles, such as Heavy, Normal, and Quick cycles, allowing users to select the perfect setting depending on their washing needs. The addition of a stainless steel interior not only enhances durability but also improves drying performance. The model also boasts flexible loading options with its adjustable upper rack, allowing users to easily accommodate oversized items.

On the other hand, the GE GLD6900 Series showcases an equally compelling combination of technology and design. This series also employs the UltraWash® System, ensuring thorough cleaning results. However, it enhances user convenience with its innovative Piranha™ hard food disposer with a removable filter. This feature effectively pulverizes food particles, preventing clogs and keeping the dishwasher running smoothly.

One of the standout characteristics of the GLD6900 Series is its quiet operation. With noise levels as low as 47 dBA, this series is designed to minimize distractions, making it an excellent choice for open floor plans or homes with sleeping children. Moreover, it includes a convenient Delay Start option, allowing users to schedule their washes for a more convenient time.

Both series include features like a sanitize cycle that eliminates 99.9% of bacteria, ensuring dishes not only come out clean but also hygienic. Energy efficiency is also a priority; both the PDW7000 and GLD6900 Series are ENERGY STAR® qualified, helping consumers save on their utility bills while reducing their environmental footprint.
