lCheck to be sure glass cooking utensils are safe for use on the range. Only certain types of glass, glass-ceramic, ceramic, earthenware or other glazed utensils are suitable for cooktops without breaking due to the sudden change in temperature.

lNever leave surface burners unattended at high heat settings. A boilover could resuit and cause smoking and greasy spilbvers that may ignite.

lTurn pan handles inward, but not over other surface burners. Thii will help reduce the chance of burns, igniting of fkmmabk materials, and spills due to bumping of the pan.

lDo not use decorative covers or trivets over the surface burners.

When using the oven

lAlways position the oven rack(s) in desired location while oven is cool.

lUse care when opening oven door. Let hot air or steam es42apebefore removing or replacing food.

Grease

lGrease is flammable. Do not allow grease to oollect around cooktop or in vents. Wp spilbvers immediately.

lDo not use water on grease fires. Never pick up a flaming pan. Smother flaming pan by covering with a well-fitted iii, cookie sheet or flat tray. Flaming grease outside of pan can be extinguished with baking soda or, if available, a muftipur- pose dry chemical or foam-type extin- guisher.

Care and cleaning

lDonotcleandoorheatseaLltisessen- tial for a good seal. Care should be taken not to rub, damage or move the seal. Clean only parts recommended in thii Use and Care Guide.

lDo not repair or replace any part of the range unless specifiilly recommended in this manual. AUother servicing should be referred to a qualified techniiian.

lAny additions, changes or conversions required in order for thii appliance to satisfactorily meet the application needs must be made by a Roper Distributor or Qualified Agency.

lOn some models, disconnect the electrical supply before servicing the range. On all models, disconnect the gas supply at the shutoff valve near the range before servicing.
