4. Lower the rear deflector until it rests on the grass bag.

Removing the Grass Bag

To remove the bag, reverse the steps in Installing the Grass Bag above.

Side-discharging the Clippings

Use the side discharge for cutting very tall grass.

If the bag is on the machine, remove it and insert the rear-discharge plug; refer to (page 9) before side-discharging the clippings.

Important: Ensure that the rear-discharge plug is in place before you recycle the clippings (Figure 24).

WARNING

The blade is sharp; contacting the blade can result in serious personal injury.

Stop the engine and wait for all moving parts to stop before leaving the operating position.

Installing the Side-discharge Chute

With the chute in your right hand:

1. Lift open the side-discharge deflector (Figure 27).

2.Install the side-discharge chute as shown in

Figure 27 and Figure 28, and close the deflector onto the chute.
