6Remove the screws on the cutting cover. Lift the unit frame and remove the cutting unit cover.

7Loosen the spring that tensions the V-belt and pry off the belt.

Simply reverse the procedure to fit the new belt.

Service position for the cutting unit

The cutting head can be placed in the service position to provide easy access for cleaning, repairs and servicing. In the service position the cutting unit is raised and locked in the vertical position.

Placing in the service position

1Position the machine on flat ground. Apply the parking brake.

2Set the cutting height control in the lowest position and lift up the cutting unit.

3Remove the front hood by removing the pin. (There are complete instructions on using the service position inside the front hood).

WARNING! Wear protective glasses when

!dismantling the cutting unit. The spring which tensions up the belt may break and cause personal injury.

4 Disengage the spring for the drive belt tensioning wheel.

Loosen on the cutting height stay and place in the holder.

WARNING! Observe caution to avoid

!trapping your hand.

5 Remove the drive belt and place it in the belt holder.

6Grip the front edge of the unit and pull forwards until it stops.

7Lift the unit until it stops and a clicking sound is heard. The unit locks automatically in the vertical position.
