WORK SAFELY. Most of the installation can be performed by one man, but some of the parts are very heavy. GET HELP IF YOU NEED IT. Use the right tools for the job. A floor jack or hoist will be a big help, but make sure they are in safe condition. Keep the floor free from oil and grease so you don’t slip. WEAR SAFETY GLASSES, SAFETY SHOES AND GLOVES and make sure your helper does too.
NOTE: The following precautions must be observed when installing the mower’s hydraulic system:
1.Work cleanly. Keep all parts and hose ends capped until the final connections are made. Examine and clean fittings if necessary to remove foreign materials. DOn’t let dirt contaminate the system.
2.Do not use teflon or other pipe joint tape on fittings or hose connections. For pipe threads, use a pipe thread sealant compound suitable for hydraulic service.
3.After pump is installed do not run the engine until the System is filled with oil!
MOUNTING ON BARE TRACTOR
1.Remove all parts from shipping cartons and lay them out for identification. Separate hardware for easy use as needed.
2.Install the attaching parts to the tractor as described in the Subframe Kit Installation Instructions. Install subframe and valve bracket cap screws and lockwashers loosely and tighten only after all fasteners have been started. NOTE: Shimming may be required for proper alignment.
3.Install the pump bracket, pump and tank as described in the Hydraulic Kit Installation Instructions. Install pulley adapter to crank shaft of engine, next determine and cut the jackshaft to length. Pre- assemble the jackshaft, pump bracket, flexible coupling, and pump as a unit. Then, install this unit to tractor with fasteners provided. Also install the tank at this time. NOTE: To get a longer life from splined jackshaft and pulley adapters, we recommend the splines be coated with LUBRIPLATE
