6.4 Tractor Mowing Speed
The best mowing speeds are usualy between
Mow at the speed that you can safely operate and control the tractor and mower. Safe mowing speed depends on terrain condition and grass type, density, and height of cut. Normal ground speed range is from 1 to 5 mph. Use slow mowing speeds when operating

Do not back up with this implement. Backing could damage the machine or its components.
Never interfere with
Never leave the mower unattended while the head is in the raised position. The mower could fall causing serious injury to anyone who might inadvertently be under the mower.
Do not operate Mower if excessive vibration exists. In the case of extreme vibration, shut down the Mower and the Tractor engine and wait until all motion has stopped. Inspect the Mower to determine the source of the vibration. If any Mower blades are missing or damaged replace them immediately. Operating the Mower with excessive vibration can result in component failure and broken objects could be thrown outward. To reduce the possibility of property damage and personal injury, never allow the Mower to be operated with excessive vibration.
Maintain adequate tractor stability to prevent lateral instability and possible
BEFORE leaving the tractor seat, always engage the brake and/or set the tractor transmission in parking gear, disengage the PTO, stop the engine, remove the key, and wait for all moving parts to stop. Place the
tractor shift lever into a low range or parking gear to prevent the tractor from rolling. Never dismount a Tractor that is moving or while the engine is running. Operate the Tractor controls from the tractor seat only.
