9. Failed capacitors will no longer have a flat top and can be identified by signs of bulging
(shown below) and/or venting. The top may bulge upward. In severe cases the top of
the capacitor may show signs of electrolyte venting which appears as a small amount
of cream-colored paste around the top of the capacitor. One or both of these
symptoms indicates that the capacitor has or will likely fail.
10. If the logic board has bulged or vented capacitors, replace the logic board as well.
