1. Rinserice beforeplacinginto the innerpot to remove excessbran andstarch. Thiswill help reduce
browningandsticking.
2. Ifyou have experiencedanysticking withthe type of riceyou are using,try adding a lightcoatingof
vegetableoilor non-stickspray to the bottomof the innerpot beforeadding rice.
3. Thechart aboveis only a generalmeasuringguide. As thereare many differentkindsof rice
available(seeAbout Riceon page 15 ), rice/watermeasurementsmayvary slightly.

1. Add the desired amount of water to the inner pot according to the food being cooked. A
convenient steamingguidehas been includedon page 13 ofthis manual forreference.
2. Place food in thesteam tray.Place steam trayinto the colander.
3. Place the innerpot into the base.Place colanderand steam trayinto the innerpot and cover with
thelid.
4. Press the Steambutton. TheSteam light willilluminate.
5. Allowto cookfor the necessaryamountof time (seepage 13 fora steaming guide).Usingprotective
ovenmitts, openthe lid and checkfood everyso often for doneness.
6. Remove food immediately aftercooking processhas completed.Usingprotectiveoven mitts,grasp
thehandlesof thecolanderand carefullyliftout. Placeona heat-proofsurfaceand carefullyremove
thesteam trayfrom the colander.
7. Press the Warm/Offbutton twiceto turn off theheat. Do not leavefood in the machineafter it has
finishedcooking.Leavingfood in the innerpot may causeit to overcook.

1. Whencookingriceand steamingsimultaneously,amaximum of4 cups (8 cupscooked) ofrice may
beprepared. Thiswill ensurethat both thecooked rice andthe steam trayfit properlyinto the rice
cooker.
2. Addthe desiredamount of riceand water to theinner pot. Seesection titled“To Cook Rice”on
page7 for detailedinstructions. Placethe inner pot intothe base.
3. Placefood to besteamed intothe steam tray. Place the filledsteam trayover the riceand
replacethe lid. Press the WhiteRice or BrownRice button,as applicable.
