Telephone operation
Call transfe r An external call can be transferred between the
followi ng par ties:
• From on e hands et to another handse t (pur-
chased separately).
• From a handset to th e base .
• From th e base to a h andset.
Call tr ansfer
During a conversation, you can transfer the call to
another handset or to the base.
• Press INTERCOM on th e hand set or HANDSET
LOCATOR/ INTERCOM on the base (the external
call is put o n hold) .
• Enter the handset number (1-4 or 0 for the
base) to which you want to transfer the call.
• The destination set will ring, showing an inter-
com cal l.
• Press INTERCOM, PHONE FLASH, SPEAKER
or any dial pa d key ( 0-9, * or #) on th e des-
tination handset to answer the intercom call.
On the base, pre ss HANDSET LOCATOR/ INTERCOM,
SPEAKER or any dial p ad key (0-9, * or #) to
answer the intercom call.
• When the recipient answers the intercom call,
you can talk privately without the outside caller
hearing the conversation.
• On a h andset, p ress OFF CLEAR to transfe r the
call. On the bas e, press SPEAKER to complete
the tr ansfer to a ha ndset.
NOTES:
1. If the intercom call is not answered within approximately 100 sec-
onds, the external call will be released from hold at the originating
set.
2. When the recipient answers the intercom call, the originating party
can toggle between the intercom and external calls by pressing
INTERCOM on the handset or HANDSET LOCATOR/ INTERCOM on the
base.
