Preparation

To prepare for the firmware upgrade, do the following:

1.Use an RS-232 cable to connect a COM port on your computer to the RS- 232 Serial Port of your VS482.

2.Unplug the VS482’s power adapter.

3.Hold-down front panel pushbutton 1 and plug the power adapter into the VS482 to power the unit.

4.If successful, the port 1 LED will start flashing and you can start the upgrade process as explained on the next page.
