Do not operate if the electrical cord, plug, or charger is damaged or malfunctions in any manner. Return the can opener to the nearest Black & Decker authorized service facility for examination, repair, or adjustment.

This product contains nickel-cadmium batteries which must be recycled or disposed of properly at the end of the life of the can opener (see “Battery Removal and Disposal”). Do not incinerate or compost batter- ies as they will explode at high temperatures.

Leaks from battery cells can occur under extreme conditions. If the liq- uid, which is a 20-35% solution of potassium hydroxide, gets on the skin (1) wash quickly with soap and water or (2) neutralize with a mild acid such as lemon juice or vinegar. If the liquid gets into the eyes, flush them immediately with clean water for a minimum of 10 minutes. Seek medical attention.

CHARGING PROCEDURES

IMPORTANT: Before first use, place the unit in the Charging Base so that the Tab on the handle fits into the notch on the base ( ). Push all the way down to assure proper charging. Leave it plugged in for 24 hours for best operating capability.
