Howto use your Vacuum Cleaner:
YourBlack & Decker vacuum cleaner has been designed
tovacuum wet and dry substances. This product is
intendedfor household use only.
Donot use this appliance outdoors.
Assembly:
Fig.A - Connecting the hose
Insertthe hose connector (11) into the hose inlet (10).
Pushthe hose until the release button clicks into place.
Todisconnect the hose, press the release button and
pullout the hose.

Pushthe lower tube firmly into the upper tube until they
fittightly.
Fig.C - Fitting the floor head
Thefloor head (17) can be used for vacuuming on
carpetand hard surfaces (e.g. laminate and tiles). Push
thetube (13) into the floor head (17). To remove the floor
head,pull it from the tube.
Figs.D, E,F&N-Fitting the accessories
Thecrevice tool (16) is designed to help vacuum in
narrowand hard-to reach places. The small brush (15)
canbe used to vacuum furniture, blinds, curtains,
windowsand stairs. The wet surface tool (14) is
designedto help pick up wet spills.
Pushthe accessory onto the hose handle (12) or the
tube(13) as required. To remove an accessory,pull the
accessoryfrom the hose handle or the tube. The
accessoriescan be stored in the recesses above each
wheel(9).

Connectthe power cord to a suitable power supply.
Afteruse, unplug the cord and wrap it around the cord
storagerecess (3) in the motor housing. A clip is
providedto fasten the plug to the wrapped cord.

Forvacuuming on carpets, switch the brush actuator to
theup position. For vacuuming on laminates, tiles, etc.,
switchthe brush actuator to the down position. Take
carenot to trap fingers when adjusting the brush
position.

Afterchecking if the voltage of the source is suitable,
plugin the appliance.
Toswitch the appliance on, press the on/off switch (4)
Toswitch the appliance off, press the on/off switch
again.

Theslider on the hose handle (12) can be used to
momentarilyreduce the airflow if required.
DryVacuuming
Ifthe appliance has already been operated for wet
cleaning,ensure that all accessories, filters and the dust
filterare properly dried & fitted.
Warning: The dust filter (see fig. O) and dust bag (19)
mustbe attached to the appliance before dry
vacuuming.
Thefloor brush or any accessory may be used whilst dry
vacuuming.When operating the appliance, make sure
thatthe hose is not trapped, twisted or blocked. In case
ofoverheating, a cut-out will operate and the appliance
willautomatically stop. If the appliance stops operating,
unplugthe appliance and allow it to cool for 2-3 hours
beforecontinuing. Note: Never use the Vacuum to pick
upanything burning or smoking (matches, cigarettes,
hotashes, etc.)

Removethe dust filter (see fig. O). Remove the dust bag
(19).Only the wet surface tool (14) must be used during
wetvacuuming.
Toremove the dust filter, the cap shown in fig. T must be
removed.Turn this anti-clockwise to remove and clock-
wiseto re-fit. After the cap is removed, the filter can be
slidoff the plastic cage. To ensure that there is no water
remainingin the hose and tubes after use hold these
partsUPWARD before switching off the appliance.
During‘wet’ cleaning, when the liquid level reaches to
maximumthe float (see fig.U) will automatically block the
motorentrance and suction will be cut off. In order to
continuecleaning, empty the container (7) and restart.
Ifthe Vacuum overturns during use, unplug it from the
electricalsupply then stand it back on its wheels again.
TheVacuum can then be re-connected to the electrical
supply& continue vacuuming.

Ensurethe dust bag has been removed from the unit
beforeusing the blower function. Remove the blower
coverlid (5) and insert the hose connector (20) into the
hoseinlet (10).

Ifthe suction drops significantly drops, this indicates that
thebag is full, or the filter is saturated and needs to be
cleaned.To empty the dust-bag, first unplug the vacuum
fromthe electrical supply.
Liftboth latches to the open position & lift the motor unit
fromits location. Then empty the bag into a suitable
container.
Howto care for your Vacuum Cleaner You can rinse the
dustfilter (see fig. O) with lukewarm water after shaking
thefilter to remove dust. Ensure the filter is dry before
usingthe Vacuum again. Regular cleaning/replacement
ofthe dust-bag and filter will maintain the efficiency of
yourVacuum Cleaner and the life of the motor.
