3.Initially configure the USM.

a.The Login Menu (shown in Figure 4-3) should be displayed on the USM’s attached monitor. If the [Scroll Lock] LED on the USM’s attached keyboard is blinking, the Summit is ready to accept hotkey commands, which can be used with the OSUI to login, select computers, or administer the system.

If the monitor instead displays a “.....No connection to Summit.....” message, the USM isn’t properly connected to the Base Unit. Check for loose connections and make sure you’re using good, intact CAT5 cables. (See Appendix F for UTP-cabling information.)

b.Type admin in the User Name field and press [Enter]. In the Password field, type the default password blackbox (all lowercase) and press [Enter].

c.The monitor should display the OSUI’s Selection Menu as shown in Figure 4-4, indicating that the USM is correctly installed.
