Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies

2	cups	packed brown		sugar
1	cup	shortening
2	eggs
1	teaspoon		vanilla
1-¾ cups flour
1	teaspoon		baking soda
½	teaspoon		salt
3	cups	quick9cooking		rolled oats
1	cup	chocolate chips

￿Cream the brown sugar￿ shortening￿ eggs and vanilla in the mixing bowl￿ on speed 1 or 2. Ad flour￿ baking soda and salt. Blend well￿ stir in ro oats and chocolate chips by hand. Drop by

	spoonfuls onto greased	baking	sheets. Bake		in 3
	ºF oven for 8-10 minutes. Cool before removing
	from pan. Makes 5 dozen.
