6While lightly holding the thread, turn the needle threader lever toward the front of the machine (toward you). The hook will pull the thread through the needle.
7Raise the needle threader lever.
8Pull the loop of the thread passed through the eye of the needle toward the rear of the machine.

Drawing up the lower thread
1While lightly holding the end of the upper thread, slowly turn the handwheel toward you (counterclockwise) by hand to lower and then raise the needle.
2Pull on the upper thread to draw up the lower thread.
