Choosing a location
Place the fax machine on a flat, s table surface that is free of
vibration and shocks, such as a desk. Put the fax machine near a
telephone wall jack and a standard, grounde d AC power outlet.
Choose a location wh ere the temperature r emains between 5 0°F
and 95°F (10°-35°C).
Caution
■Avoid placing the fax machine in a high-traffic area.
■Do not place near heaters, air cond itioners, water, chemica ls,
or refrigerators.
■Do not expose the fax machine to direct sunlight, excessive
heat, moisture, or dust.
■Do not connect the fax machine to electrical outlets cont rolled
by wall switches or automatic timers.
■Disruption of power can wipe out information in the fax
machine’s memory.
■Do not connect the fax machine to electrical outlets on the same
circuit as large applianc es or other equipme nt that might disr upt
the power supply.
■Avoid interference sources, such as speakers or the base units
of cordless phones.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTION

When using your telephone equipment, basic safety
precautions should al ways be followed to reduce the ri sk of
