7 - 7 Quick-Dial numbers and dialing options
Search
You can search for na mes you have store d in One-Touch an d
Speed-Dial memories. ( See Storing One-T ouch Dial numbers on
page 7-1 and Storing Speed-Dial numbers on page 7-2.)

Pick up the handset.

Press Search/Speed Dial, then ente r the first letter of the
name you are looking for by using the dial pad.

Press or to search the names that are displayed
alphabetically.

When the screen displays the name you want to call, press
Fax Start to begin dialing .

To hang up, replace the handset.
Pause
Press Redial/Pause to inser t a 3.5-second paus e between
numbers. If you are dialing overseas, you can press Redial/Pause
as many times as need ed to increase the le ngth of the pause.
Hold

Press Hold/Caller ID to put a call on Hold.

You can replace the ha ndset without disco nnecting the call .

Pick up the fax machine’s handset to release the call from
Hold. Picking up an exte nsion handset will not release the call
from Hold.
Redial (Telephone)
If you are calling someone and the line is busy, you can retry the
number by pressing Redial/Pause.

Pick up the handset.

Press Redial/Pause.

To hang up, replace the handset.
Redial (Fax)
If you’re sending a fax manually and the l ine is busy, press
Redial/Pause to try again. Any time you want to make a second
call to the last number dialed, press Redial/Pause to save time.
If you’re sending a fax automat ically and the line is busy, the fax
machine will automatic ally redial one t ime at five minu tes intervals
after the transmission.
Tone or Pulse (Canada only)
If you have a Pulse dialing service, but need to send Tone signals
(for example, for telephone banking), follow the instructions below.
If you have Touch Tone service, you will not need this feature to
send tone signals.

Pick up the handset.

Press #. Any digits dialed after this will send tone signals.

When you hang up, the fax mach ine will return to the Puls e
dialing service.
