fRemove the hook by grasping its center post and pulling it out.

gUse a brush to remove any accumulated lint and thread from the retaining ring, hook, driver and race body.

hUse a cloth dampened with machine oil to wipe the shuttle race in order to remove any lint.

iClean the lint from the shuttle hook in the same manner as described in step h.

jReassemble the hook and the retaining ring, and push the latch levers back into position.

kAttach the bobbin case, the presser foot and the needle before using the machine.

Cleaning the feed dogs

CAUTION

Make sure you unplug the machine before you clean it. Otherwise, you may get an electric shock or be injured.

aTurn off the machine and unplug it.

bRaise the needle and the presser foot, and then remove the presser foot and the needle.

cRemove the flat bed attachment and open the shuttle cover at the front of the free arm.

dRemove the needle plate by using a coin or oval screwdriver to remove the screws.

eUse a brush to clean the lint from the upper part of the feed dogs and shuttle race body.

fAttach the needle plate by using a coin or oval screwdriver.
