7. Hold garden sprayer nozzle close to finned areas and
apply cleaner with a vertical, up-and-down motion.
Avoidspraying in horizontal pattern to minimize po-
tential for fin damage.
8. Ensure cleaner thoroughly penetrates deep into finned
areas.
9. Interior and exterior finned areas must be thoroughly
cleaned.
10. Finned surfaces should remain wet with cleaning
solution for 10 minutes.
11. Ensure surfacesare not allowed to dry before rinsing.
Reapply cleaner as neededto ensure 10-minute satur-
ation is achieved.
12. Thoroughly rinse all surfaces with low velocity clean
water using downward rinsing motion of water spray
nozzle. Protect fins from damage from the spray
nozzle.
13. Replace top cover and rear corner posts.

TROUBLESHOOTING
PROBLEM SOLUTION
COMPRESSORDOES NOT RUN
ContactorOpen
1. Power off. 1. Restorepower.
2. Fus es blown in field p ower circuit. 2. After finding cause and correcting, replace with correct size fuse.
3. No c ontrol power. 3. Check control transformer primaryconnections and circuit breaker.
4. T hermostat c ircuit open . 4. Check thermostat setting.
5. Safety d evice lockout circuit active. 5. Reset lockoutcircuit.
6. Low -pressure switch op en. 6. Check for refrigerant undercharge, obstruction of indoor airflow. Make
sure liquid line solenoid valve(s) is open.
7. Hi gh-press ure switch op en. 7.Check for refrig erant overcharge, obstruction of outdoor airflow, air in system.
Besure outdoor fans are operating correctly.
8. Compressor overtemperature switch open. 8. Checkfor open condition.Allowfor reset.Replace compressorif necessary.
9. Lo ose electrical con nections. 9. Tighten all connections.
10.Compressorstuck. 10.Seecompressorserviceliterature.
ContactorClosed
1. Co mpressor leads loo se. 1. Check connections.
2. Motor windings open. 2. Seecompressorserviceliterature.
3. Si ngle phasin g. 3. Check for blown fuse. Check for loose connection at compressor termina l.
COMPRESSOR STOPS ON HIGH-PRESSURE SWIT CH
Outdoor Fan On
1. High-p ressure switch faulty. 1. Replace switch.
2. Re versed fan rota tion. 2. Confirm rotation, correct if necessary.
3. Airflow restricted. 3. Removeobstruction.
4. Air r ecirculating . 4. Clear airflow area.
5. No ncondensa bles in system. 5. Recover refrigerant and recharge as required.
6. Re frigerant o vercharge . 6. Recoverrefrigerant as requ ired.
7. Line voltage incorrect. 7.Consult powercompany.
8. Re frigerant s ystem restrict ions. 8. Check or replace filter drier, expansion valve, etc.
Outdoor Fan Off
1.Fanslipsonshaft. 1.Tightenfanhubsetscrews.
2. Motor not running. 2. Checkpower and capacitor.
3. Motor bearin gs stuck. 3. Replace bearings.
4. Mo tor overloa d open. 4. Check overload rating. Check for fan blade obstru ction.
5. Motor burned out. 5. Replace motor.
