MODEL CBH 60 MONOBLOCK VALVE REPAIR - DISASSEMBLY

Replacing Spools Seals:

Note: For the purpose of these i nstructions we wi ll consider the control handle side of the valve as the FRONT, and the opposite side as the BACK.

1.Remove control valve from the backhoe.

2.Throughly clean the exterior of the val ve before beginning disassembly procedures.

3. A t th e BACK of th e valve remove all bo nnet assembly part s which are conn ected to th e spool. Keep parts in the order of disassembly. See e ach valve section parts breakdown for the parts involved in the make-up of the bennet assembly.

IMPORTANT: DO NOT rem ove the spoo l f rom the valve. The s eals can be re placed externally. Pre vent spoo ls fro m turni ng or moving by inserting a sc rew driv e thro ugh the clevi s slot, or by running a rod t hrough t he pin hole and using the rod as a handle.

DO NOT ho ld the sp ool with a wrenc h. T his wil l destroy the finish.

4.At th e BACK of the val ve, remove seal retai ner, back-up washer, and spool O-ring seal, or retaining sleeve, bonnet O-ring seal and spool O-ring.

5.Throughly clean counter bores.

6.Install new seals:

A. Spring-Centered Bonnet Assembly Only:

Light ly oil n ew O-ring s eal. Sli de s eal ove r val ve spool and insert weal in counter bore. Replace back- up washer and seal retainer.

B. Float Bonnet Assembly Only:

Lightly oil new O- rings. Ins tall O-ri ngs into spacer.

7.At the BACK o f the valve replace bonnet assem - bly parts, reversing the order in which they were dis- assembled in step 3. Use 6 - 8 ft. lbs. Tor que to tighten assembly screw on spring cent ered bo nnet assembly.

8. At the FRONT of the valve remove al l parts con- nected to the spool (handle, linkage, etc.).

9.At the FRONT of t he valve rem ove seal plate retainer, back-up washer and spool O-ring seal.

10.Throughly clean counter bore.

11.Lightly oil new O-ring seal. Slide O-ring seal over valve spool and insert in seal co unter bore. Replace back-up washer and seal plate retainer.

12.Reattach all parts connected to the spool (han - dle, linkage, etc.)
