MODEL CBH70 BACKHOE ATTACHING KIT INSTRUCTIONS
General Description
Mounting and hydraulics kits do not include hoses which connect the backhoe control valve to the trac - tor hydr aulic sys tem. Ad ditional hyd raulic co mpo- nents, hoses and/or kits will be required to complete the
IMPORTANT: Tractor lowe r link s must be kept free of lif ting forces at all times after installat ion of the attaching kit, by keeping t ractor quadrant lever in the lowered position.

IMPORTANT: Tighten all hardware to t he require- ments specified in the torque chart.
!WARNING
To prevent bodily injury, do not operate backhoe unless Lower L ink Weldments (17, 18) are prop - erly installed and adjusted. Failure to do so may result in backhoe being t hrust upward, crushing operator against cab or ROPS.
1.Use hoist to raise the backhoe mainframe so that the boom piv ot pin is approximately 14” off t he ground.
2.Back tractor c lose to the back hoe. Conn ect tractor lower link arms to lower link mounts using two
NOTE: If tr actor has a Category I I hitch, inst all two Bushings (15) in lower link arms.
3.Attach Upper Braces (21), to bac khoe with 3/4 x
4.Install Bushing (13) or Bushing (16) in the Upp er Bar (20) that mostclosely matches the diameter of the tractor upper link pin. No bushing is necessary for Category II tractors.
5.Secure Upper Bar (20) between Upper Braces (21) using 3/4 x
6. Attach RH Lower Link We ldment ( 17) and LH Lower Link Weldment (18) to backhoe mainframe using 3/ 4 x 2- 1/4” Bolt ( 2), Flat Washer (10) , Lockwasher (9), and Nut (7).
7.Align RH and LH Link Weldment (17, 18) with the upper bar/brace assembly, as close to the tr actor as possible. Use3/4 x 6” Bolt (4), Flat Washer (10), Lockwasher (9) , and Nut (7 ). You may ne ed t o return to Step 6 and readjust upward or downward the boltconnection.
8.Remove backhoe from the tractor.
9.Install connector plate (19) to RH and LH Low er Link Weldments (17, 18) using 1/2
10.Tighten all hardwareat this time. Check your instal- lation very carefully to be sure allmembers are cor- rectly installed and securely fastened.
11.If using optional PTOPump and Reservoir Kit pro- ceed to that section prior to remounting the back- hoe onto the tractor.
12.Connect hoses from the backhoe control valve to the tractor hydraulic system as desc ribed in “Hydraulic
