5. Attach the fiber labeled 2 to the receive port.
6. Check that the BRIM-E100 Receive (RX) LED is green or flashing
yellow. If the LED is off, perform the following steps until it is on:
a. Check that the power is turned on for the device at the other end of
the link.
b. Verify proper crossover of fiber strands between the FE-100FX
and the fiber optic device at the other end of the fiber optic link
segment by reversing the transmit and receive fibers at one end of
the segment.
c. Verify that the fiber connection meets the dB loss specifications
outlined in Chapter 2.
If a link is not established, contact Cabletron Systems Technical Support.
The BRIM-E100 is now ready to be set up through Local Management.
Proceed to Chapter 5, Local Management, to configure the BRIM-E100.
