Une unité centrale AH10 prend en charge quatre zones primaires et quatre zones secondaires (huit pièces au total). Chaque sortie de zone secondaire est liée à une sortie de zone primaire et reçoit toujours la même source que sa zone primaire (la zone secondaire A2 reçoit toujours la même source que la zone primaire A1, la zone B2 que la zone B1, etc.).

Les zones secondaires sont utilisées dans des environnements tels que des salles de bain attenant à une chambre (la chambre étant la zone primaire) où il s'agit d'avoir une pièce diffusant la même source qu'une autre mais avec la possibilité d'ouvrir ou de couper le son, d'effectuer des réglages de graves et d'aiguës individuels, etc.

Toute zone primaire peut avoir une zone secondaire.
