Problem Cause Solution
Camera will not
operate
Power is not turned
on
•Press the ON/OFF button for a
moment.
Battery cover or CF
card slot cover is
open
•Confirm that the batte ry cover and
CF card slot cover are securely
closed.
Insufficient battery
voltage
•Insert a fully charged battery into
the camera.
•Use the AC Adapter Kit ACK500
(sold separately).
Poor contact
between camera and
battery terminals
•Wipe the terminals with a c lean
dry cloth.
Camera will not
record
Mode switch is set
to (Playback)
•Slide the mode switch to .
Flash is charging • Wait until the flash charges. You
can press the shutter button
when the indicator lights orange.
CF card is full •Insert a new CF card.
•If required, download the ima ges
to a computer and erase them
from the CF card to make space.
CF card is not
formatted correctly
•Format CF card.

•If reformatting does not work, the
CF
card logic circuits may be damaged.

Cannot play back
You attempted to play
back images shot
with another camera
or images edited with
a computer
•Computer images that cannot be
played back will playback if they are
added to the camera using the
bundled software program
ZoomBrowser EX or ImageBrowser.
File name was
changed with a
computer or file
location was changed
Set the file name or location to the
file format/structure of the camera.
