Press the shutter button fully.

XThe camera will play the shutter sound and shoot. The flash will automatically fire in low light conditions.

XThe indicator will blink green while the image is recorded to the memory card.

XThe image will appear on the screen for about two seconds. You can continue shooting while the image displays.

What if...

nothing displays when the camera is turned on? Press the button to turn on the screen (p. 43).

the camera does not play any sounds?

Pressing the button while turning on the camera power will turn off all sounds except for warning sounds. To turn on sound, press the · button, select the 3 tab, then select [Mute]. Use the qr buttons to select [Off].

the image comes out dark even the flash fired when shooting? Subject is too far away for the flash to reach. Shoot the image within the

effective flash range of approximately 30 cm – 4.0 m (1.0 – 13 ft.) at maximum wide angle (j side), and approximately 30 cm – 2.0 m (1.0 – 6.6 ft.) at maximum telephoto (i side).

the indicator blinks yellow and the camera only beeps once when the shutter button is pressed halfway?

Your subject is too close. Move about 50 cm (1.6 ft.) or more away from your subject. Press the shutter button again halfway, making sure the indicator does not blink yellow before taking the picture.

the screen turns off when you take an image?

When flash recharging begins, the indicator may blink orange and the screen may turn off. When recharging ends, the screen turns on again.

the lamp lights?

The lamp (Red-Eye Reduction Lamp) lights in order to reduce the red-eye effect that occurs when shooting in dark conditions using the flash. It also emits when assisting the focus (AF-assist Beam).
