IMPORTANT
A document must meet the following criteria to be scannable:
•Always make sure that the ink on a document is dry before scanning it. Scanning documents before the ink is dry can make the scanning glass and rollers dirty, resulting in lines on images.
•Always clean the rollers after scanning a document written in pencil. Scanning documents that are written in pencil or similar material can make the rollers dirty, which can then transfer the dirt to subsequent documents.
•When scanning a
•Exercise caution when scanning perforated documents. Documents with a ragged edge along the perforation may jam and become damaged.
•Exercise caution when scanning documents with a glossy finish or colored background, since they may be misdetected as double fed documents. If misdetection of double feeds occurs often, turn off Double Feed Detection. (See p. 44).
