Optical 37x The optical magnification ratio of the lens. Used for recording movies
only when [Image Stabilizer] is set to [
Dynamic] or when
[Widescreen] is set to [
Off] and for recording photos.
Advanced 41x The camcorder processes the image beyond the range of the optical zoom to obtain a larger zoom without any deterioration in image quality. Used for recording movies in all cases but the two exceptions above.
