Shooting Vertically (Vertical Shutter Release)

Shooting Mode

With the camera held vertically, you can release the shutter by

pressing the button in place of the shutter button. You can also shoot with the shutter button.

1 (Rec.) Menu [Vert. Shutter] [On]*/ [Off].

See Menus and Settings (p. 23).

*Default setting.

2 Select a shooting mode.

3 Hold the camera verti- cally, aim at the subject

and press the button.

Shooting

The button will behave as fol- lows.

-Lit Up: ready to shoot

-Off: shooting a still image

-Blinking: shooting a movie Unlike the shutter button, this but- ton does not have a halfway stage. When the camera focuses, it will beep twice and record the image immediately.

To review the image immediately after taking the shot, con-

tinue to hold the button.
