application
Software prepared for a specific function or set of functions. Examples of an application program include word processing programs. Developers who make application programs include drivers that support different types of printers.
automatic feed
Method by which paper can be fed into the printer when the

brightness
The relative proportion of light and dark areas. Decreasing brightness darkens the overall image. Increasing brightness lightens the overall image.
C
contrast
The degree of difference between the lightest and darkest areas of an image. Decreasing contrast lightens the dark areas and darkens the light areas. Increasing contrast darkens the dark areas and lightens the light areas.
D
default setting
A system setting incorporated at the factory and permanently registered in the application. Also, a value or a setting that the software assumes until or unless you specify another value.
dpi
Dots per inch. A unit of measurement for indicating a printer resolution.
