Shooting Movies in [E] Mode

1 Enter [E] mode.

zzSet the mode dial to [E].

XXBlack bars displayed on the top and bottom edges of the screen indicate image areas not recorded.

2Configure the settings to suit the movie (=181 187).

3Shoot.

zzPress the movie button.

zzTo stop movie recording, press the movie button again.

Shoot movies with smoother motion, at nearly double the frame rate, as follows.

zzFollow the steps in “Changing Movie Image Quality” (=64) to choose

[ ].

Locking or Changing Image Brightness Before Shooting

Before shooting, you can lock the exposure or change it in 1/3-stop increments within a range of –2 to +2.

1Lock the exposure.

zzPress the <o> button to lock the exposure. The exposure shift bar is displayed.

zzTo unlock the exposure, press the <o> button again.

2Adjust the exposure. zzTurn the <5> dial to adjust the

exposure, as you watch the screen.

3Shoot (=80).
