z You should not shoot images in (Stitch Assist) mode when using these attachments. Although it is possible to select this mode on the camera, the PhotoStitch software will not be able to stitch the images together on the computer.

z To protect the conversion lens, hold the camera's lens with one hand and screw the conversion lens onto the camera with the other hand.

z Completely remove all dust and dirt from conversion lenses with a lens blower brush before use. The camera may focus on any dirt that remains.

z Be careful when handling the lenses so as not to get fingerprints on them.

z Once the lens adapter is screwed on the camera, it locks into place. When removing the wide converter, the tele-converter or the close-up lens, do so while firmly pressing on the lens adapter with your hand to avoid damage to the lenses.

Converter Settings

Set the camera appropriately after attaching the Wide Converter WC- DC58A or the Tele-converter TC-DC58B (no setting is needed for the 500D Close-Up lens).

1Select [Converter] from the [ (REC)] menu.2Use the W or X button to select the attached converter.

3Press the MENU button.

When Image Stabilizer is set to anything other than [Off], an icon appears for the lens selected in Step 2 in place of the image stabilizer icon on the LCD monitor (or viewfinder).

When you remove the converter from the camera, return the converter setting to [None].
