7FE Lock

FE (flash exposure) lock enables you to lock the correct flash exposure for any part of the picture.

With <a> displayed on the LCD panel, you press the camera’s <7> button. If the camera does not have the <7> button, press the <P> button.

1Focus the subject.

2 Press the <7> button. (3)

Aim the viewfinder center over the subject and press the <7> button.

X A preflash will be fired to obtain a flash exposure reading for the subject.

XFEL” will be displyed on the LCD panel for 0.5 sec.

Each time you press the <7> button, a preflash will be fired and a new flash exposure reading will be locked.

If the subject is too far away and underexposure will result, the <Q> icon will blink in the viewfinder. Move closer to the subject and try the FE lock again.

If <a> is not displayed on the LCD panel, FE lock will not be possible.

If the subject is too small, FE lock might not be very effective.
