Changing the Metering Method

You can change the metering method (brightness measuring function) to match the shooting conditions.

Choose the metering method.

●After pressing the mbutton, press the opbuttons to choose .

Choose an option.

●Press the qrbuttons or turn the Âdial to choose an option, then press the mbutton.

XThe setting will appear on the screen.

		Suitable for standard shooting conditions, including back lit shots.
	Evaluative	Automatically adjusts the exposure to match the shooting
		conditions.
	Center	Averages the light metered from the entire frame, but gives greater
	Weighted Avg.	weight to the center.
	Spot	Only meters within the		(Spot AE Point frame). The Spot AE
	Spot	Point frame can be linked to the AF frame.
		Point frame can be linked to the AF frame.

Linking the Spot AE Point Frame to the AF Frame

Choose .

●Follow Step 2 above and choose .

Choose [Spot AE Point].

●Press the nbutton to choose [Spot AE Point] in the 4tab, then press the qr buttons to choose [AF Point].

XThe Spot AE Point frame will be linked to the AF frame that was moved.

Cannot be used when [AF Frame] is set to [Face Detect] (p. 84).
