General

Maintenance

To maintain optimum perf ormance and minimize wear, the user should clean the light
fixtures fr equently. Usage and environment are c ontributing f act ors in determining the
cleaning fr equ ency. A s a r ul e, t he user s h oul d c l ean th e f i xtures at l east twic e a month.
Dust build up reduces light output performance and can cause overheating. This can
lead to red uced light sour ce lif e and inc reased m ec h anical wear.
CHAUVET® recommends cleaning the fixture’s external optics with a soft cloth using
normal glass cleaning fluid.
To clean a fixture, follow the recommendations below:
· Unplug the fixture from power.
· Wait until the fixture is cold.
· Us e a vac uu m (or dr y c ompressed air ) an d a s of t brus h to rem o ve d ust coll ec t ed
on th e ext ern al ven ts and r eac h abl e inter n al c omp onents.
· Cl ean al l ext ern al optics and glass surfaces w it h a mil d solut i on of gl ass clean er or
iso propyl alcohol, and a soft, lint free cotton cloth or a lens cleaning tissue.
· Apply the solution directly to the cloth or tissue and drag any dirt and grime to the
outs i d e of the lens.
· Gent ly polish t h e ext er n al gl ass s urfaces unti l th ey are fr ee of h az e a nd li nt .
· When cl ean i ng unit s with a movable mir r or , y ou s h ould keep t h e c ont act with the
mirror surface to a minimum to avoid scratching or damaging it.
Always dry the external optics and glass surfaces carefully after cleaning them.
If the fixture has one or more cooling fans, refrain from spinning them using
compressed air.
