5. Technical Information General
Maintenance
To maintain optimum perf ormance and min imize w ear, t he us er should clean the light
fixtures frequent ly. Us age and envir onm ent ar e contr ibuti ng f actors in det erminin g th e
cleaning frequenc y. As a r ul e, t he user should clean t h e f i xtures at least twice a month.
Dust build up reduc es light out put per formanc e and can c ause ove rheating . This c an
lead to reduced light sourc e lif e and increased mechanic al w ear .
CHAUVET® recomm ends cl eaning the fi xture’s external optics wit h a soft cl oth using
normal glass cleani ng fluid.
To clean a fixture, f ollow the recomm end ati ons below:
· Unplug the fixture f rom power.
· Wait until the fixtur e is cold.
· Use a vacuum (or dry compress ed air) and a soft brush to remove du s t collected
on the external vents and reac h abl e internal components .
· Clean all external optics and gl as s surf aces with a mild solution of gl a s s clean er or
isopropyl alcohol, and a soft, lint free c otton cloth or a l ens cleaning tissue.
· Apply the solution directly to the cloth or tissue and drag any dirt and grime t o the
outside of the lens.
· Gently polish the ext ern al glass surfaces until th ey ar e fr ee of haze and lint.
· When cleaning units with a mo vab l e mir r or , y ou s h oul d keep the contact with the
mirror surface to a minimum to avoid sc ratching or damagin g it.
Always dry the external optic s and glass surfaces carefully after cl eaning them.
If the fixture has one or more fans, refr ain from spinning them using compr essed
air.
