Ordinary circuit-switched telephone service can be supported on the same copper pair as ADSL by using micro filters or
plain old telephone service (POTS) splitter connected between the line and phones, fax machines, or modems, to provide filtering
of the high-frequency ADSL signal to avoid interference between the voice and the ADSL service.
