Connecting the DC Power Supply

Warning When you install the unit, the ground connection must always be made first and disconnected last.

Warning Before performing any of the following procedures, ensure that the power is removed from the DC circuit. Ensure that power is removed from the DC circuit. To ensure that all power is off, locate the circuit breaker on the panel board that services the DC circuit. Switch the circuit breaker to the off (O) position, and tape the switch handle of the circuit breaker in the off (O) position.

Connect the DC power supply by performing the following steps:

Step 1 Verify that the –48V and +48V leads are disconnected from the power source.

Step 2 Attach an ESD-preventive strap to your wrist, and to the router or to a bare metal surface. (See the “Preventing Electrostatic Discharge” section on page 2-4.)
