6 General Troubleshooting Information
This section provides general troubleshooting i nformation for the Cisco Unified
IP Conference Station 7936.
Refer to the following table for assistance if you are encountering difficulties.

Problem Resolution

No dial tone Check that all connections are tight and in place.
Make sure that all connections are correct.
See the “Installing and Connecting the IP Conference Station
to the Network” section on page 11.
IP ConferenceStation does not
ring
Check that the ringer setting is not “Ringer Off.”
Check the volume level.
Make sure that the IPConference Station is communicating
with the Cisco UnifiedCallManager.
No display on the LCD screen Check to make sure that there is power.
Make sure that the power supply is plugged in.
LCD screen display issues If you see beat frequencies (scan lines) in the LCD screen when
you are using certain types of older fluorescent light s in your
building, move the IPConference Station away from the
lights, or replace the lights. This should resolve the problem.
