ABOUT “BLOOD PRESSURE”
The heart is a pump that circulates
blood thr oughout your body. B lood i s pump ed fro m the heart into the
arteri es. T his pres sure is c alled the art erial blo od p ressu re, which
represents, in ge neral, b lood pr essure. Blood pressure is in dicated by
several kinds of pressures such as: systolic pressure that occurs when the
heart pumps blood; and di astolic pressure that oc curs jus t when blood
returns to the heart.
Blood pressure differs
with age, gender and other factors. Blood pressure of one person is likely to
be affecte d by biorhyth m of a day, posture, physi cal act ivities, mental
activities, stress and atmospheric temperatures.
It is said that blood pressure of a healthy person varies by 20 to 50 mmHg
within a day.
