Operating Your Telephone
With the DC power source attached, the backlit keypad will flash to alert of an incoming call.This feature can be enabled/disabled in the Setup Menu (see page 12).
An adjustable LCD shows the number you are dialing, displays numbers stored into the PhoneBook and, with Caller ID service displays information about the caller before you answer.
The keypad is backlit.The keypad’s back- light will be ON when the handset is lifted from the cradle, to make dialing easier in low light conditions, and to make the phone visible when answering a call. If the Visual Ringer is set to ON (in Setup Menu), the keypad will flash when the phone rings (see page 12).
The Nitelite softly illuminates the key- pad when the phone is in stand by mode (not in use), so that the user can easily find the telephone in the dark. The Nitelite can be turned off with a switch on the right side of the telphone that provides OFF/ LO/ HI operation.
All the backlight keypad functions are valid in either position of the nitelite switch.
Press and hold the Alarm ON/OFF but- ton to enter the “Set Alarm Clock ON/OFF” option in the setup menu. Press the Alarm ON/OFF button or lift the handset to turn the alarm off while it is sounding. Pressing any other button will snooze the alarm for 9 minutes.
Flash is a feature that enables you to answer a call if you have call waiting. Please contact your local telephone company for information on subscribing to this feature. Pressing the FLASH but- ton while you are having a phone con- versation will pick up the second con- versation and place the first call on hold. Press the FLASH button again to contin- ue your conversation with the first caller.
Redial allows you to automatically redial the last telephone number you called (up to 32 digits).To use this feature, lis- ten for dial tone and press the REDIAL button once. Your call will be dialed. The last number dialed will be stored in
