MODE FUNCTIONS
OPERATION
DuringScanning (While Receiving an
IncomingTransmission), You Can Choose
fromthe Following:
a.Press and hold the TALK button to
communicateon that channel/privacy code.
Yourradio will remain on that
channel/privacycode and return to
LISTENINGMODE.
b.Press the CHANNEL UP or CHANNEL DOWN
buttonto resume scanning DCS privacy
codes.
Ifyou press the TALK button while scanning and
notwithin 10 seconds of receiving a transmission,
youwill transmit on the channel/privacy code on
whichyou last received a transmission. This will
returnthe radio to LISTENING MODE.
DuringScanning (While Not Receiving
anIncoming Transmission), You Can
Choosefrom the Following:
a.Press channel/privacy code that was
displayedbefore you entered Mode
Functionsor channel/privacy code on which,
duringscanning, you last received a
transmission.This will return the radio to the
LISTENINGMODE. Press and hold the TALK
buttonto communicate on either the
channelor channel MODE.
b.Press the MODE button to proceed to next
availableMode Function.

DualWatchDualWatch allows you to simultaneously monitor
anytwo (2) Dual Watch Locations:
DualWatch Location 1 – is always the
channel/privacycode displayed before
youentered Mode Functions. See
“Channels,”“CTCSS Privacy Codes” and
“DCSPrivacy Codes” sections for further
details.
DualWatch Location 2 – will be stored in the
radio.It can be edited and/or recalled for
futureengagements of Dual Watch Mode.
ToProgram Or Edit Dual Watch
Location2 And Engage Dual Watch
Mode:
1.Press the MODE button until
theDual Watch icon and the
channelnumber flash on
thedisplay.
2.Choose one of the
following:
a.Select or edit a channel:
1)Press the CHANNEL
UPor CHANNEL
DOWNbutton to
selecta channel
(1to 8).
c.Press the LOCK button to return to
LISTENINGMODE on either the channel or
channel/privacycode that was displayed
beforeyou entererd Mode Functions or the
channel/privacycode on which, during
scanning,you last received a transmission.
b.Select or edit a channel/privacy code:
1)Press the CHANNEL UP or CHANNEL
DOWNbutton to select a channel
(1to 8).
2)Press the MODE button to set the
channel.The small numbers next to the
channelnumber will flash on the display.
3)Press the CHANNEL UP or CHANNEL
DOWNbutton to select a CTCSS privacy
code(01 to 38) or DCS privacy code
(01to 83).
3.Press the LOCK button to
setDual Watch Location 2
andengage DUAL WATCH
MODE(see below for
furtherdetails).
NOTES:To terminate Dual Watch and proceed
tothe next available Mode Function,
pressthe MODE button.
Whilesetting Dual Watch Location 2,
ifyou do not press any buttons for 15
secondsyour radio will automatically
returnto LISTENING MODE on Dual Watch
