MODE FUNCTIONS
OPERATION
ToTurnDual Watch On:
NOTE:Dual Watch Location 2 must be
programmedto turn Dual Watch on.
1.Set the first Dual Watch
Location(channel/privacy
code)you wish to monitor
(see“Channels,” “CTCSS
PrivacyCodes” and “DCS
PrivacyCodes” sections for further details).
2.Press the MODE button until
theDual Watch icon and the
channelnumber flash on
thedisplay.
NOTE:While setting Dual
Watch,if you do not press any buttons for
15seconds your radio will automatically
returnto LISTENING MODE on the last
channelor channel/privacy code displayed
beforeyou entered Mode Functions.
3. Press the LOCK button
toengage DUAL WATCH
MODE.

DuringDual Watch (while not receiving
atransmission),You Can Choose From
TheFollowing:
a.Press and hold the TALK button to
communicateon either Dual Watch Location
1orthe last Dual Watch Location on which,
duringDual Watch, you last received a
transmission.This will return the radio to
LISTENINGMODE.
b.Press the MODE button to proceed to
otherfunctions.
c.Press the LOCK button to return to
LISTENINGMODE on either Dual Watch
Location1 or the last Dual Watch Location
onwhich, during Dual Watch, you last
receiveda transmission.
ToTerminate Dual Watch:
Chooseone of the following:
a.Press the LOCK button to return to
LISTENINGMODE on either Dual Watch
Location1 or the last Dual Watch Location
onwhich, during Dual Watch, you last
receiveda transmission.
b.Press the TALK button to return to
LISTENINGMODE on either Dual Watch
Location1 or the last Dual Watch Location
onwhich, during Dual Watch, you last
receiveda transmission.
c.Press the MODE button and proceed to the
nextavailable Mode Function.
DuringAn Incoming Transmission,
YouCan Choose From The Following:
a.Press and hold the TALK button to
communicateon that Dual Watch Location.
Yourradio will remain on that Dual Watch
Locationand return to LISTENING MODE.
b.Press the CHANNEL UP or CHANNEL DOWN
buttonto resume Dual Watch.
Ifyou press the TALK button while in Dual Watch
andnot within 10 seconds of receiving a
transmission,you will transmit on the last Dual
WatchLocation on which you received a
transmission.This will return the radio to
LISTENINGMODE.
Ifyou do not press any button within 10 seconds,
yourradio will automatically resume
DualWatch.
BabyMonitor
Withthe Baby Monitor Function on, a radio left
neara baby will transmit to another unit on the
samechannel and privacy code whenever a sound
isdetected. Baby Monitor uses the same
sensitivitylevel you set for the VOX Function. If
youhave not set a VOX sensitivity level (see the
“VoiceActivated Transmit [VOX]” section of this
manual),the maximum sensitivity, level 5, will
automaticallybe used.
ToTurnBaby Monitor On:
1.Press MODE button until the
BabyMonitor icon flashes
onthe display. The current
Offsetting is displayed.
2.Press the CHANNEL UP or
CHANNELDOWN button to
changethe setting to On.
3.Press the LOCK button to
enterthe On setting and
enterBABYMONITOR MODE.
NOTES:Pressing the MODE
buttonwill enter the
BabyMonitor Mode
settingas Off and
proceedto other
ModeFunctions.
