Grounding or Polariza tion: Th is produc t may be equip ped with a
polarized alternatin g-current line plug t hat has one blade wider than
the other. This plug w ill only t into the power outlet in on e direction.
This is a safety feature. If you are un able to inse rt the pl ug fully int o
the outlet, try reversing the direc tion of the plug. If the plug shoul d still
fail to t, contact an electricia n to replace t he obsolete ou tlet. Do not
defeat the safety purpose of the p olarized plug.
Power-Cord Prote ction: Power su pply cord s should be routed so
that they are not li kely to be walked on or pinched by items placed
upon or again st them, paying particular attention to cor ds at plugs,
convenience rece ptacles, and at the poi nt which they exit from the
product.
Protective Attachm ent Plug: The pro duct may be equippe d with an
attachment plug with overload protect ion. This is a safety feature. See
the operating instructions for r eplacement or direct ions to reset th e
protective device. I f replacemen t of the p lug is requ ired, be sur e the
service technic ian has used a replacem ent plug that h as the same

Outdoor Antenna Groun ding: If an outside ante nna is connected to
the product, be sure the antenna sys tem is grounded so as to pro vide
some protection against v oltage surg es and built-up s tatic char ges.
Article 810 o f the National Electrical Code, A NS/NFPA 70 provides
information with regar d to proper groun ding of the mast and support-
ing structure, gr ounding of the lead- in wire to an antenna -discharge
unit, size of grounding conductors, locatio n of antenna-discharge unit ,
connection to grounding electro des, and requirements for the grou nd-
ing electrode (see gure).
