Removing the Heatspreader

To remove the heatspreader, complete the following steps:

1.Prepare the computer for disassembly.

2.Remove the palmrest cover with touch pad.

3.Remove the keyboard.

4.Remove four screws from the heatspreader and lift out of the chassis.

If the thermal pads on the heatspreader

NOTE: are missing or damaged, a new

heatspreader should be installed.

Before installing the new heatspreader,

IMPORTANT: remove the plastic covering from the thermal pads.

To replace the heatspeader, reverse the previous procedures.

WARNING: To prevent damage, do not use excessive force when replacing the screws.
