FrameRelay operationrequires that theWAN interface is set to be a
“numberedinterface.” This means that the interface (and thus the
FrameRelay network)must have an IPX network number.

SMDS Configuration
This sectionco vers thesettin gsrequ iredfor SMDS (Switche d
Multi-megabitData Service) operation of the MicroRouter 1200i WAN
0interface (IP only). SMDS is a connectionless, packet-switched
servicethat offers LAN-to-LAN connectivity across a wide area at up to
1.544 Mbps.
Note: The IP protocolsettings a nd thep hysical communication
settingsare the same as they would be for Frame Relay operation. The
only parameters which should be set differently for SMDS aret heLin k
Configurationand the SMDS addressing section.
