THE DR 6 -TON ELECTRIC WOOD SPLITTER MUST BE CONNECTED TO A PROPERLY GROUNDED OUTLET BEFORE OPERATION.

End of Season and Storage

BEFORE PERFORMING ANY MAINTENANCE, YOU MUST UNPLUG THE WOOD SPLITTER FROM THE POWER SOURCE. MAKE SURE THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM IS DEPRESSURIZED (SEE PAGE 7), AND MAKE SURE THE FLUID HAS COOLED.

READ THE "GENERAL SAFETY RULES" (CHAPTER 2) OF THIS MANUAL BEFORE PERFORMING ANY REPAIRS OR MAINTENANCE.

Wipe down the wood splitter to remove any moisture, wood chips, and dirt that may have accumulated on the Log Guide Rails and Hydraulic Control.

Clean out any accumulated debris from the Electric Motor Shroud (Figure 13 on page 19) and the Motor Fan Housing.

Apply a thin coating of oil or #2 Lithium Grease to the Wedge Cutting Edge to prevent rust.

Store the DR 6 -TON ELECTRIC WOOD SPLITTER in a dry area.

Relieve any internal air pressure by opening the Air Bleed Screw by turning counter-clockwise 4 times and then retighten by turning clockwise prior to storing the machine; see Figure 9 on page 13. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN!

USE CARE, DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN, AND STRIP THE AIR BLEED SCREW THREADS.
